Resources — curated Microsoft links

Every link below was verified live (June 2026). Organized by journey stage so each one slots into the matching stage page on the site. These are the "broad set of resources to learn from and re-use" — we point at the canonical Microsoft hubs rather than re-documenting them.

Inclusion rule (locked). A link belongs here only if it is (a) Microsoft-direct (a microsoft.com / learn.microsoft.com / aka.ms / official Microsoft YouTube/GitHub surface) or (b) published by a named Microsoft employee under their own name. Community creators and MVPs — however good — are out of scope for this curated set, so customers can trust every link as first-party or first-party-adjacent.

Verification note: product surfaces move fast (Cowork, Agent Builder, first-party agents). Treat these hubs as the source of truth and re-check before customer-facing claims. New as of June 2026: Microsoft introduced the Autopilots always-on agent category and Microsoft Scout, its first Autopilot, on June 2, 2026 — a Frontier private-preview release now folded into the journey as Stage 5 · Autopilots. The Microsoft Scout Learn page and the announcement blog are the source of truth for setup and current availability.

M365 Copilot Mechanics playlist Official Microsoft Mechanics deep-dives on Copilot in the M365 apps YouTube playlist

Reuse tip: the Prompt Gallery is your best "borrowed content" — link directly to it from every Stage 1 walkthrough instead of re-listing prompts.

Stage 2 · First-Party Agents

Resource What it is Link
Agents in Microsoft 365 (dedicated hub) The canonical roster of the prebuilt agents included with M365 Copilot (Researcher, Analyst, Facilitator, Interpreter, …) — what each does, in plain language adoption.microsoft.com/ai-agents
Agents in Microsoft 365 (Adoption Hub → agents section) Overview of prebuilt agents and the Agent Store, within the broader adoption hub adoption.microsoft.com/copilot
M365 Copilot resources (CAT) CAT-curated adopt/deploy/extend hub for M365 Copilot + its agents aka.ms/m365copilot/resources
Researcher & Analyst now GA (M365 blog) Jared Spataro (CMO, AI at Work) announcing the two reasoning agents reaching general availability — what each is built for microsoft.com/m365-blog
Enabling human-agent teams (M365 blog) Nicole Herskowitz (CVP, Microsoft 365 Copilot) on how prebuilt agents work alongside people microsoft.com/m365-blog

Reuse tip: the dedicated Agents in Microsoft 365 hub is the roster source of truth — it lists each included agent and what it's for, so link to it from the Stage 2 overview rather than re-documenting the lineup (which changes as Microsoft adds and graduates agents).

Stage 3 · Cowork

Resource What it is Link
Sean Galliher's Cowork Cookbook An independent community project that inspired this site's use-case-first spirit — Cowork applied across 15 end-to-end business processes (unofficial, not affiliated with this site) coworkcookbook.com
M365 Copilot resources (CAT) Same CAT hub; Cowork sits within the broader M365 Copilot experience aka.ms/m365copilot/resources

Reuse tip: rather than competing with Sean's process-based Cowork recipes, link to them from this stage and keep our Cowork content focused on "how Cowork fits the ramp toward building agents."

Stage 4 · Agent Builder

Resource What it is Link
Agent Library Marketplace-style catalog of production-ready agent templates (declarative + Studio) learn.microsoft.com/agent-library
Agent Builder vs Studio vs Foundry (decision framework) CAT/Partner guidance on picking the right authoring surface by skill + complexity aka.ms/copilotstudio/resources
Agent Platform Advisor Interactive "which platform should I build on" recommender aka.ms/agentresources
April's AI Agents Academy (April Dunnam) Step-by-step agent-building series by April Dunnam, Principal Cloud Advocate at Microsoft YouTube playlist

Reuse tip: the Agent Library's prebuilt templates (e.g., "Plan My Day") are perfect "look, you didn't even have to build it" demos that warm customers up before they build their own.

Stage 5 · Autopilots

Resource What it is Link
Introducing Microsoft Scout (M365 blog) The June 2, 2026 announcement of the Autopilots always-on agent category and Microsoft Scout, its first Autopilot microsoft.com/m365-blog
Microsoft Scout (Learn) Overview + setup instructions — the source of truth for turning Scout on and its current availability learn.microsoft.com/microsoft-scout
Work IQ APIs The work-context layer Scout is built on — the same intelligence opened up to developers microsoft.com/m365-blog
Frontier program The early-access path — Scout ships in private preview through Frontier m365.cloud.microsoft/frontier

Reuse tip: the Microsoft Scout (Learn) page is the source of truth for setup and current availability — link to it from Stage 5 walkthroughs rather than restating prerequisites that may change during private preview.

Stage 6 · Copilot Studio (the low-code destination)

Resource What it is Link
Copilot Studio official docs The canonical Learn documentation set — get started → build → test → publish → govern learn.microsoft.com/copilot-studio

Copilot Studio in a Day — Learn path The self-paced lab modules behind CSIAD (first agent → knowledge → flows) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/paths/power-virtual-agents-workshop/
Agent in a Day (and the "in a Day" family) Free one-day Microsoft workshops, including Agent in a Day on Copilot Studio https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/training-workshops
Copilot Studio Samples — hands-on workshop Microsoft-owned 9-lab workshop (authoring, knowledge, flows, generative orchestration) https://microsoft.github.io/CopilotStudioSamples/guides/workshop/
Power CAT program resources The Power CAT team's master index — guidance, Well-Architected, webinars, adoption workbook https://microsoft.github.io/powercat/resources.html

Reuse tip: the microsoft/agent-resources repo is doubly useful — it's both a content source AND a proof-of-concept for our hosting approach (five static sites on GitHub Pages, no build step).

Stage 7 · Foundry (the pro-code frontier)

Resource What it is Link
Microsoft Foundry docs The canonical Learn documentation set — build, evaluate, deploy AI apps and agents learn.microsoft.com/azure/ai-foundry
Foundry Agent Service Build, deploy, and run agents with tools and orchestration learn.microsoft.com/azure/ai-foundry/agents
Standard agent setup Bring-your-own Azure resources so agent data stays in your tenant (project-level isolation) learn.microsoft.com/standard-agent-setup
Role-based access control in Foundry Least-privilege built-in roles and Entra ID authentication learn.microsoft.com/rbac-foundry
Extend Microsoft 365 Copilot — options compared Where custom-engine (Foundry) agents fit next to declarative ones learn.microsoft.com/extensibility
Agent samples (low-code → pro-code) Microsoft-owned and community GitHub starting points learn.microsoft.com/agent-samples

Note: Foundry is a fast-moving developer platform — these links track the product, so prefer them over any snapshot. Most teams reach Foundry only when low-code genuinely can't express the agent they need.

Governance & IT (cross-cutting, mostly Stages 4–5)

Resource What it is Link
Agent governance whitepaper + Agent 365 Lifecycle, compliance, data security, responsible AI for agents at scale https://aka.ms/agent365/resources
Copilot Studio admin & governance docs Environments, DLP/data policies, authentication, analytics https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/
